This 6mm thick fibre cement Tile Backer Board will provide you with a completely flat and solid surface when tiling on a wooden floor. This added stability and reduced movement help to limit the chance of cracked grouting and damage to your tiles.
An excellent alternative to standard plywood boards, this 600mm x 1200mm board will provide exceptional strength, the same strength as traditional 15mm plywood, without the added complication of the height that 15mm plywood will give you.
The A1 fire rating ensures that these boards are completely non-combustible so that you can rest easy. When boards are primed with a latex-based SBR Professional Tiler's Primer, they can also take on water-resistance to suit bathrooms and wetrooms.
If you have a chipboard floor, direct adhesion can often be problematic due to the high wax content in chipwood. By overlaying the chipboard with this tile backer board, you can achieve a perfect surface for your tiling job. Thanks to the board's insulating properties it makes an excellent addition to floors where underfloor heating systems are installed.
